Start with your exact address
Brisbane City Council’s bin collection lookup provides collection details and a downloadable calendar. Enter your unit number as well as the street address where applicable. There is no single collection day given here for all of Ashgrove.
For a shared building, ask the property manager where communal bins are stored and who moves them. Keep that arrangement alongside the official calendar: they answer different questions.
The night-before routine
Council says to have bins at the kerb by 5.30am on collection day, with lids closed, wheels facing the property and 30cm between bins. Keep pedestrian access clear. Collections continue on public holidays.
A useful household checklist: identify the right bins, check the calendar, then agree who puts them out and brings them back. For a busy family or share house, a recurring reminder saves the morning scramble.
If a collection is missed
Council’s instructions say to report a missed red-lid collection after 4.30pm on collection day, or a missed yellow- or green-lid collection within two working days. Use the reporting link on its collection page or call 07 3403 8888. If moving a bin is difficult, ask Council about eligibility for in-home collection assistance.
